Hotel Villa Dagmar - Stockholm

V I L L A D A G M A R

In recent years cities like Stockholm have embraced a richly textured and elegant style, and Villa Dagmar, in the city’s upscale Östermalm district, is a fine example: paying tribute to Art Nouveau and other century-old influences, all viewed from a playful contemporary perspective. Vibrant and luxurious are the keywords for Villa Dagmar. The luxury boutique hotel delivers a cosmopolitan stay at Östermalmstorg in the very heart of Stockholm, Sweden.

Design, personalised service, and unique dining experiences come together at this striking boutique hotel with a storied past. Contemporary event spaces, a retreat and fitness centre, and flower shop — along with an enviable location adjacent to Östermalms Saluhall building — add to the hotel's exhilarating ambiance, attracting local visitors as well as leisure and international business travellers.

Villa Dagmar is a beautiful and creative home for the traveller who is seeking a hotel in Stockholm with both heart and soul in a chic and conscious part of the city. The hotel was built in 1870 and refurbished in 1912, history permeates the atmosphere of this restrained Art Nouveau building where famous author Axel Munthe, the doctor and allegedly lover of Sweden's Queen Victoria, was a long-time resident. The old brick building, with its industrial windows has been fondly preserved. Warm, cozy furnishings and the latest technology provided in 70 rooms and suites offer a welcome respite from the bustling city. Try a fresh local treat at the hotel's gourmet market after a long walk around the city. Stroll over to the Östermalmstorg subway station; it is one of the city's most beautiful stations, adorned with playful and personal artwork by feminist artist and sculptor Siri Derkert, or choose from the Mediterranean-fusion menu at the main restaurant on site or visit the gorgeous Östermalm Market Hall next door to sample traditional Swedish fare, innovative global cuisine, and organic groceries.

Where to go: Östermalm makes for an interesting contradiction. It’s a posh residential neighbourhood. But it also has the highest concentration of nightclubs in the city, found around Stureplan. There is a lot to see in Stockholm. Just bring your good shoes and start exploring. Only 5 minutes from the hotel you will find Humlegården which is a great place for dog walking.

Allowed areas: Dogs are welcome in your room, in the area around reception and lobby and in the outdoor restaurant seating.

Size n’ shape: Small dogs up to 8kg are welcome. Yes we know, this excludes 90% of all breeds, but we still like the fact that they welcome dogs.

Room amenities: A comfy bed, bowls, a toy and a treat is ready in your room upon arrival.

Accommodation fee: The daily fee is 1000SEK / 96€ per dog.

Dog loving or friendly? Dog Friendly.

If you ask us: Make sure your dog is trained, well behaved, calm and travel-savvy when bring him/her to a hotel stay. For the stress-free experience.

Last tip: To avoid unpleasant surprises for both your dog and the hotel staff, always use the “Do not disturb” sign when leaving your dog alone in the room, even for 5 minutes.

One Rhonda: Suitable for 1-2 night with a dog. A wonderful stay when transiting to your final destination.

Two Rhondas: Suitable for up to 5 nights with a dog. A place worth staying for a weekend or a couple of amazing days.

Three Rhondas: A destination in itself and suitable for a longer holiday length - Where dogs are as welcome as any other guest in the hotel.
