Elite Hotel Mimer is centrally located in Norrland's capital Umeå. Impressive, almost palace-like brick building was built in 1897. Previously it was a school, but has now been transformed into a modern hotel where the classical and modern create beautiful harmony. Elite Hotel Mimer is part of a larger hotel chain, which has hotels in Sweden's largest cities. The hotel has 139 rooms, of which the rooms for dogs are unfortunately located in the basement. Inside the hotel you will find a nicely decorated restaurant and a cozy lobby where you can enjoy your breakfast in the company of your dog. Umeå is a university town, one of Sweden's most important cultural cities, which houses the highly acclaimed Bildmuseum, which shows world-class art exhibitions. If you are interested in culture, the city is worth a visit but it also suits as a perfect break and overnight on the way to the magical and northernmost Sweden.

Elite Hotel Mimer is a dog friendly hotel and the four-legged ones are welcomed in the room with a bag of treats. When you go there, make sure to explore the incredible nature of Norrland.. something you will never forget. Remember to request accommodation for your dog when booking your stay.

Where to go: There are many small parks in the central Umeå as well as a nice promenade along the waterfront of river Ume. As with the rest of Norrland, you do not have to travel many kilometers outside the city before the wilderness begins. Around 4 km away from the hotel you will find is a large park-like forest with almost unlimited space for longer walks with your dog.

Allowed areas: Dogs are welcome in the small area around reception and lobby. As the location of your room is predefined to the basement area, you can go directly from entrance down to your room by a separate and stairway.

Size n’ shape: All sizes are welcome. Notify the hotel when making your reservation if you wish to bring more than one dog.

Room amenities: Bowls, a treat and a small blanket is ready in your room upon arrival.

Great for: We find the hotel suitable for shorter stays, as guests with pets can only stay in rooms in the basement area.

Accommodation fee: The daily fee is 200 SEK / 20€ per dog.

Dog loving or friendly? Dog Friendly… for sure.

Other? Car parking is very practical - just in front of the hotel.

If you ask us: Make sure your dog is trained, well behaved, calm and travel-savvy when bring him/her to a hotel stay. For the stress-free experience.

Last tip: To avoid unpleasant surprises for both your dog and the hotel staff, always use the “Do not disturb” sign when leaving your dog alone in the room, even for 5 minutes.
