Just an hour drive from Lisbon, you will find abundant wildlife in Comporta. A magical, unspoiled place where you will experience the authentic and genuine Portugal. Comporta is an area made up of 8 small villages and the main village of Comporta has several small local shops, grocery stores cafés.

The exquisite Sublime Comporta hotel is nestled on a stunning 17-hectare estate, surrounded by undulating umbrella pines, cork trees and wild sand dunes - a magical, unspoiled place where nature presides. The resort has 23 rooms and suites and 22 two-to-five-bedroom villas. Each villa has a private pool, a fireplace, and large outdoor areas. These are spread across the resort adding intimacy to the hotel. Among the many amenities available for all guests to enjoy are a spa with a steam bath and sauna, 3 restaurants (2 seasonal), 4 pools (including one indoor heated pool and one children's pool), a gym, a yoga pavilion, tennis and paddle courts, an organic garden, a forest garden, and an orchard. Sublime Comporta offers a combination of tranquillity and simplicity that is both addictive and inspiring, reminding us of the magic of experiencing more with less.

R O N D A ’ S N O T E S

Where to go: Sublime Comporta has plenty of space for long walks. The hotel is nestled on a stunning 17-hectare estate, surrounded by undulating umbrella pines, cork trees and wild sand dunes. Outside the hotel you will find several trails to walk through a rough but beautiful landscape. The beaches are only a 10 minutes’ drive away and worth a visit. Ask the reception for a map and off you go.

Allowed areas: Dogs are not allowed in the pool area, indoor restaurant/bar as well as the spa, gym, and the boutique. Dogs are welcome in the grand outdoor premises and as long as they are accompanied by their owner on their leash. The villas are large and so is the private outdoor area, so you definitely feel that you have enough space for your dog.

Size n’ shape: Sublime Comporta accepts dogs in their Cabana Villas (2, 3, 4 or 5 bedrooms) and dogs up to 15kg are welcome in the hotel.

Room amenities: The hotel warmly welcomes you with a bed and bowls for your dog. This is ready and prepared in your room upon arrival.

Accommodation fee: The rate for having your dog with you is 50€ per night. You will also be charged a deposit of 150 euros, which will be used, if necessary, for any potential damages. The amount will be returned on check-out if there are no damages to report.

Dog loving or friendly: Dog friendly staff for sure.

If you ask us: Make sure your dog is trained, well behaved, calm and travel-savvy when bring him/her to a hotel stay. For the stress-free experience.

Last tip: To avoid unpleasant surprises for both your dog and the hotel staff, always use the “Do not disturb” sign when leaving your dog alone in the room, even for 5 minutes.

Restaurants: During high season, Sublime Comporta offers theirs guests 3 dining experiences; The Sem Porta, a restaurant inspired in the local rice storing facilities where regional products, local fish and wineries are brought together to reinvent Portuguese and Alentejo dishes. Food Circle, the outdoor ‘farm-to-table’ restaurant inspired by the principles of permaculture, sustainable production and ancestral cooking methods. Tasca da Comporta caters sophisticated Portuguese ‘petiscos’ in a chilled, friendly and alfresco atmosphere with nature as a backdrop.

Bars: The Pool Bar is open from June to October, here you can enjoy lighter meals and refresh cocktails in a relaxed Comporta style atmosphere. The lobby bar features a large deck punctuated with beautiful centenarian Olive trees, overlooking the pool. Here cocktails cater to the most demanding connoisseur.

Paddle and tennis court: Available for private lessons or free use.

Gym: You will find a weekly wellness calendar with activities that are available throughout the year, including body circuit training, yoga, pilates, tabata workout and more.

The Sublime Spa: Choose your treatment and relax with locally sourced ingredients, local rice and sea salt, freshly harvested whole plants, sustainably cultivated and grown in their Organic Garden, certified organic pure essential and vegetable oils.

Pools: The hotel has 3 pools. An outdoor main pool (adults only), an outdoor Children’s Pool and an indoor heated pool (adults only).

Bike riding: The hotel provides bicycles that guests can borrow to discover the surroundings.
